You can connect your Telegram account with Bit Social to automatically share your WordPress posts, schedule them in advance, and instantly publish content to your Telegram channel or group. To access and manage Telegram publishing, the Bit Social Pro version is required.

With Bit Social, you can create posts, add captions, and share images and links directly to your Telegram channels or groups.

Connect With Telegram

To connect your Telegram account with Bit Social, you need to create a bot using BotFather, get the bot token, and then add it to Bit Social. This allows you to publish posts directly to your Telegram channels or groups.

Here’s how to create your Telegram bot:

Open Telegram: Launch the Telegram app on your phone or computer.
Find BotFather: Search for @BotFather and start a chat.
Create a new bot: Send the command /newbot to BotFather.
Name your bot: Choose a descriptive name that users will see.
Set a username: Pick a unique username ending with “bot”.
Get your Bot API Key: After confirming, BotFather will send your bot’s API token. Keep it secure!

After generating your Bot Token, you’ll need to add your bot to the Telegram group or channel where you want to post content.

Here’s how to do it:

Open Telegram: Launch the app on your mobile device or desktop.
Navigate to your group or channel: Go to the group or channel where you want your bot to post.

3. Add the bot as a member:

On Mobile:
- Tap the group or channel name at the top.
- Select “Add Member” (this may appear under a menu icon ⋮ or be directly visible).
- Search for your bot using its username (e.g., @YourBotName) and add it.
On Desktop:
- Click on the group or channel name at the top.
- Choose “Add Member.”
- Enter your bot’s username and click to add it.

Note

Important Notes:

Bots can only send messages to groups and channels, not individual chats.
After adding the bot, you must promote it to an admin of the group or channel.
If the bot is not granted admin rights, the group or channel will not appear in the Bit Social connection list and won’t be able to post.

Make sure your bot has the correct permissions to ensure smooth integration and publishing through Bit Social.

After adding the bot to your Telegram group or channel and promoting it to admin, follow these steps to complete the connection in Bit Social:

Open Bit Social.
Go to the Account section.
Click on Connect Account.
Under Telegram, click Login.
Paste your Bot Token into the Bot Token field.
Your Telegram group or channel will now appear in the list.
Click the Save button.

You’re now all set to publish posts directly to your Telegram group or channel using Bit Social!

Note

When you connect your Telegram group or channel to Bit Social using the Bot API key, it may not fetch or send data if there hasn’t been any recent activity in that group or channel. Also, even after a successful connection, if the group or channel remains inactive for some time, the same issue may occur. To fix this, simply send a message or perform any activity in the group or channel to reactivate the connection and ensure Bit Social functions properly.
