With Bit Social, you can create posts, add descriptions, and share images and links directly to your Twitter Profiles.

## Custom App Method

For the Custom App Method, start by visiting the Twitter Developer site and navigating to the Developer Portal. There, you’ll need to create a project and an app to establish a connection with Twitter.

There are two API versions you can choose from: **v1.1** and **v2.0**.

- **[In v1.1](https://bit-social.com/documentation/accounts/connect-your-twitter-account-with-bit-social/#setup-for-api-version-1-1-media-supported)**, you can share media, like images and videos.
- **[In v2.0](https://bit-social.com/documentation/accounts/connect-your-twitter-account-with-bit-social/#setup-for-api-version-2-0-media-unsupported)**, media sharing is not supported, so you won’t be able to share media on Twitter using Bit Social.

**Please follow the steps below to create a Twitter App and add your accounts using this App:**

The free API for Twitter (X) has been deprecated. As a result, posting to Twitter using the free version API is no longer supported in Bit Social. To continue sharing posts on Twitter (X) through Bit Social, a valid paid API access from Twitter (X) is required.

First, go to [Twitter Developer](https://developer.x.com/en). Click on “[Developer Portal](https://developer.twitter.com/en/portal/dashboard)” at the top-right corner, then select “**Projects & Apps.**“
